Orthodontics / Invisalign

Whether you favor clear aligners, retainers, or braces, turning to an orthodontist for your dental needs is a wise step in the right direction. Orthodontics is a branch of dental care that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of dental and facial abnormalities. Straightening your teeth, balancing your face, and restoring the proper function of your jaw are just a few treatments orthodontics can offer you. Before choosing the orthodontic treatment that is right for you, it’s important to know the different issues orthodontics can treat.

Common Orthodontic Issues

Braces on Dentures

If you’re not happy with your teeth, you’re not alone. People of all ages suffer from orthodontic issues, including:

  • Crowding

  • Overbite

  • Underbite

  • Missing lateral incisors

  • Too much space between teeth

The treatment required to fix your orthodontic issues depends on the problem and severity of it. Braces, the most common type of orthodontic treatment, work by applying pressure to the teeth to realign them. Although it’s always a good idea to get braces early, patients of all ages may benefit from braces.

Invisalign

If you suffer from bite problems and crooked teeth but don’t like the thought of wearing braces, you might be a perfect candidate for Invisalign. Invisalign is a clearer, more comfortable alternative to braces. When we decide if you’re the right candidate for Invisalign, we’ll take an x-ray and impressions of your teeth to create your custom aligners. Once you receive them in the mail, you must always wear them except for when you eat and brush your teeth. We will send new aligners each week that will eventually move your teeth back in place.

Before deciding which treatment is best for you, we will perform a thorough evaluation and take several x-rays. Whether you need braces, Invisalign, or orthodontic surgery, you can count on us to provide quality care. Call today to schedule an appointment.
